Abstract

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) allows not only to contribute to the social transformation of students, but also to promote their comprehensive learning. As a consequence, this article presents different multimodal activities based on the use of two manga comics on different global issues that allow students to promote social skills such as cooperation and communication while achieving effective multimodal learning in an English as a foreign language subject from a Master’s degree. For this reason, a qualitative-descriptive methodological model is followed, characterized by a questionnaire and a rubric that students filled out anonymously in order to know their opinions about some aspects of their teaching-learning process. The rubric was also completed by the teacher. The results reveal that, thanks to the manga materials employed, the majority of students eventually reached that degree of global and multimodal citizenship.
