Observations on representations of the cross with Tetragrammata
Keywords:
Greek Manuscripts, Liturgy, Gospels, Gregory of NazianzAbstract
We discuss and suggest the relationship between a cross with short inscriptions (tetragramms) in Ms. Sofia, Dujčev Center, gr. 212 (Lectionary of the Gospels) and Ms. Città del Vaticano, Bib-lioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat. gr. 463 (Gregory of Nazianz). The position of the crosses in the Vaticanus shows the relation between the text of the inscription and the homilies of Gregory of Nazianz.
