Abstract
In this article, we analyze the recreation of the Mexica tlatoani Moctezuma II in the graphic novel La caída de Tenochtitlan libro I (2019). We start from the idea that in this work, although a version of this character is shown based on the review of various historiographical, academic and dissemination texts, a narrative adhered to the traditional discourse that he was a villain of ancient Mexico is followed. For our analysis, we took the paradigm of indicial inferences as a methodological guide, while we took up several researchers to talk about the life and work of Moctezuma II.
