Abstract

As part of the INMIGRA-Comunidad de
Madrid Research Project, “Sociolinguistic patterns and processes of sociolinguistic integration in Madrid”, a sociolinguistic corpus was created comprising twelve Colombian immigrants living in
Madrid who were subjected to a semi-directed interview conducted in a semi-formal style of speech. The interview was complemented with a closed questionnaire of questions devised to measure
their social and linguistic integration in the host community. The questionnaire included a section for assessing the attitudes of Colombians towards the Madrilenian speech variety and to contrast
it with their own. These data were analysed to obtain a preliminary appraisal of the patterns of social integration and the linguistic attitudes of Colombians in Madrid. The results will be compared with those for the other migrant communities that are being
studied by the INMIGRA-CM Project.
