La autoría múltiple se encuentra en los Excerpta Historica Constantiniana (EC), una colección bizantina del siglo X. La contribución se centra en la tensión entre las fuentes primarias de la EC y el contexto de la EC como tal, explorando la herramienta conceptual de la Autoría Distribuida y aplicándola tanto a las funciones de emisor/receptor como a las relaciones de poder entre el emperador y el/los excerptor(es). El proemio de la EC se basa en el Nuevo Testamento, concretamente en la Epístola a los Efesios, que a su vez arroja luz sobre la agenda cultural, política y religiosa de Constantino VII.
