To remember is to renew what we have lived and this has to do, among other things, with the body. According to philosophy and anthropology, body is the mirror of what the individual (and with him, his community) lives, suffers and remembers. It forms, from all points of view, a virtual archive of the experiences of the past and, when stimulated, it is capable of remembering and enlivening the sensations and memory of what was. My proposal in this study is to reflect on the meanings that emerge from body in the novel Roza tumba quema by Claudia Hernández. In particular, I am interested in analyzing how Hernández questions subalternity through body and how, from the meanings related to it, she establishes a new place of enunciation for the historical account of the post-war period, overcoming an initial perspective that relates a condition marginalized from a gender point of view. I propose to take note of how this narrative can represent an alternative place of enunciation, an external space from which the point of view of the “outside” (Fuss) is shaped in contrast to the normative proposal of the “inside” that emerges from the official discourse. At the same time, I try to highlight how the narration of the body is used by Hernández to stage the common destiny of the collective, recalling the past and at the same time recounting the present.
