On April 8 and 9, 2025, the 13th Conference on Language and Communication was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of the University of Alcalá (Spain). On this occasion, the chosen theme was the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language analysis and teaching.
Considering this timely issue, the conference served as a forum for researchers, professors, and students from both within and outside the University of Alcalá to come together. To make the content accessible to a wider audience and in keeping with tradition, Lingüística en la Red is publishing this special issue consisting of four articles on AI: one theoretical and the other three applied.
